Tour description
Discover central Dalmatia, specifically the Split-Dalmatia County, known for its rich cultural heritage, pristine nature, and numerous islands. This travel program offers a variety of active tourism options, including hiking, kayaking, and cycling, with itineraries adaptable to different fitness levels, group sizes, and ages.
In addition to exploring the UNESCO-listed cities of Trogir and Split, the program includes a visit to Biokovo Nature Park. Guests can also experience eco-ethno villages, where they can taste authentic cuisine, enjoy traditional dishes, visit museums, and immerse themselves in local culture.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival
Arrival in Trogir and check-in at Hotel Rotondo 4*, a sustainability-focused hotel with an EU Ecolabel certification. Enjoy some free time, depending on your arrival schedule, followed by dinner at the hotel and an overnight stay.
Day 2 – Hiking around the Kaštela region and the Trogir hinterland – Škopljanci Ethno-Eco Village
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a scenic hike to the Škopljanci Ethno-Eco Village in Radošić. Continue to Kaštel Novi and ascend to the Biblical Garden, where you’ll explore Croatia’s spiritual heritage, local traditions, and artworks (5.2 km; 1.5 hrs; +100 m). A transfer then takes you to Škopljanci for a guided estate tour, lunch, visits to the Ethnographic Museum and Bull Museum, and a mini zoo of native animals. The day concludes with a return to the hotel, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 3 – Sightseeing of Trogir and Split
A day to explore Trogir and Split. In the morning, take bus 37 to Trogir, where you’ll visit its historical landmarks, including the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. Lunch is arranged at Restaurant Marijana, known for its local seafood specialties. In the afternoon, travel to Split by bus for a guided tour, visiting the Cathedral of St. Domnius and the Archaeological Museum. After immersing yourself in the cultural heritage of both cities, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4 – Cycling on Brač island
In the morning, depart by bus to Split, then take a ferry to Supetar. A guided tour of Supetar is planned, including a visit to the Church of the Annunciation with Byzantine mosaics and a walk through the Supetar cemetery featuring works by Ivan Rendić and Rosandić. Afterward, enjoy a tasting and lunch in Škrip, followed by a Brač stone souvenir-making workshop. The program continues with cycling through Brač; route: Supetar – Mirca – Donji Humac (1-hour cycling, 10.4 km, +353 m, -39 m). Optionally, hiking on the south side of Brač can be organized.
HIKING OPTION 1: Gažul – Vidova Gora (2:15 hours hiking; 6.6 km; +161 m, -145 m) – transport to Bol or Supetar.
HIKING OPTION 2: Gažul – Vidova Gora – Bol (3:45 hours hiking; 13 km; +196 m, -778 m) or Nerežišća – Pustinja Blaca (3:30 hours hiking; 11.7 km; +258 m, -407 m) – transport to Bol or Supetar.
HIKING OPTION 3: Nerežišća – Pustinja Blaca – Murvica (7 hours hiking; 20 km; +660 m, -660 m) – transport to Bol or Supetar.
Return by bike or organized transport to Supetar port, ferry to Split, bus to the hotel, and dinner with overnight stay.
Day 5 – Omiš and Surroundings – Hiking and Rafting
Arrival in Omiš. The hike starts from Zakučac, continues along the Leopold Mandić Educational Trail, and then follows the Illyrian Trail to Ostrvica, ending at the Ar’ja Tavern in Gatama (2 hours of hiking; 4.7 km; +381 m, -97 m). Before lunch, a visit to the Historical Museum of Poljica is scheduled.
- Group level 1 – Hike from Zakučac to the Ar’ja Tavern in Gatama (2 hours of hiking; 4.7 km; +381 m, -97 m), followed by a visit to the Historical Museum of Poljica before lunch.
- Group level 2 – Hike from Zakučac to the St. Nicholas Church in Ostrvica (3 hours of hiking; 7.3 km; +506 m, -262 m), followed by transportation to the Historical Museum of Poljica and then to the Ar’ja Tavern in Gatama.
- Group level 3 – Hike from Zakučac to the St. Nicholas Church in Ostrvica, then to the Historical Museum of Poljica, and finally to the Ar’ja Tavern (4:40 hours of hiking; 12.3 km; +583 m, -292 m).
After lunch, transportation is provided to the Cetina River, with a stop at the Mile Gojsalić Monument, followed by rafting on the Cetina. After the rafting adventure, the group can choose to explore Omiš. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 6 – Hvar – Kayaking and sightseeing
Departure by public bus or organized transport to Split, followed by a catamaran to Hvar. Upon arrival in Hvar, enjoy a guided city tour and kayak excursion to the Pakleni Islands. Lunch will be at the Tri Grede restaurant on Marinkovac Island. Afterward, kayak back to Hvar and return to Split by catamaran. Transportation will be provided back to the hotel, followed by dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 – Makarska Riviera
After breakfast, depart from Trogir by public transport (bus) to Makarska. Upon arrival in Makarska, a city walk follows.
Option Level 1 Hiking: Walk through Osejava Forest Park to Tučepi, then ascend to the Veza Tavern in Srida Selo (2:45 hours of hiking; 7.6 km; +368 m, -119 m), followed by transport to Makarska after lunch and free time.
Option Level 2 Hiking: Walk through Osejava Forest Park to Tučepi, then ascend to the Veza Tavern in Srida Selo. After lunch, continue to Kotišina, visit the Veliki Kaštel Interpretation Center and the botanical garden (4:45 hours of hiking; 13.3 km; +600 m, -307 m).
Option Level 3 Hiking: Walk through Osejava Forest Park to Tučepi, ascend to the Veza Tavern in Srida Selo. After lunch, continue to Kotišina, visit the Veliki Kaštel Interpretation Center and botanical garden, then descend to Makarska (6:00 hours of hiking; 17 km; +638 m, -633 m).
There is an option for a zip line adventure in Srida Selo, Tučepi. After hiking, return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 8 – Departure
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel.
