The Bojinac area is one of the most beautiful rocky landscapes and belongs within the boundaries of Paklenica National Park. The trail crosses a wild landscape of furrowed rocks that alternate with groves, and the view reaches the sea and the highest peaks of Velebit. The area of Bojinac is one of the most beautiful examples of karst landscape, of which Croatia has many examples of different geomorphological forms. The trail passes several interesting-looking rocks, most of which bear women’s names, because legend says that village shepherdesses used to run away from the Ottomans on these rocks. An attractive path of unusual beauty and natural wilderness leads us through the rocks, and from the foot of the Bojinac rock we will enjoy the view of the Velebit peaks, Adriatic islands and mountain expanses with stone galleries in the middle of the meadows that surround them. Picnic during the hike. At the end of the hiking tour, on the top of the Big Canyon awaits us the host of Ramića dvori mountain lodge with local dishes and beverages and a beautiful view over the green canyon. OPTIONAL: The ascent to the top of Bojin rock and crossing the via ferrata is an optional route, which the guide decides depending on the psychophysical condition of the group.

We reach the hamlet of Jurline, an abandoned shepherds’ village. We enjoy the views from the top and continue our way on the mountain ridge before descending through a dense forest down to the bottom of the canyon. We continue through the big canyon right along the banks of Paklenica river surrounded by huge rocks and impressive stone slopes until we arrive at the entrance of the park and finish the last distance to arrive at Starigrad Paklenica center. Little Prince Trail: walking time 5h30 / length 9km / altitude 660m

The Little Prince trail is located on the southern part of Velebit, and is one of the most beautiful Croatian hiking trails. Its name is associated with something fairytale, something that will take you to the world of dreams and magical moments. The trail is full of strange rock formations with special names such as Castle, Tavern, Little Door, Castle Door, Zdenko’s pitch, Blind Gorge, Narrow Gorge, Tonka’s Door, Backbone and the last and most beautiful Heaven’s Door. This educational trail belongs to the more technically demanding trails with ladders, pegs and cables, and thus will surely delight everyone’s adventurous spirit. On its way, we will also pass by the shelter of Tatek’s cabin, in whose imaginative ambience we will take a break. Those who go on this path will discover the secret dreams of the Little Prince, the young philosopher from the famous novel by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and discover the meaning of its famous proverb “Let your life be like a dream, and let the dream become reality” – “Fais de ta vie un reve et d’un reve une realite”. PIcnic during the hike. Transfer 50 min. back to the hotel. Free dinner.

Day 5 - Sveto brdo

Trail Libinjska kosa – Vlaski grad – peak Sveto brdo – Dušice – parking: walking 6h45 /length 16,7km /altitude 1050m

The majestic peak Sveto Brdo with its height of 1751 m takes the second place on the list of the highest peaks of Velebit and is also the most recognizable peak of the Velebit massif due to its pyramidal shape visible from several hundred kilometers away. The peak rises above the valleys of Velika and Mala Paklenica and is one of the highest peaks of Velebit that exceed 1,700 meters.
Sveto Brdo or Holy Mountain, on which a 4m high cross is placed, got its name because people believed that during storms, the Divine and Evil forces would settle up there. From that peak, there is a superb vantage point that can be called the king of the panorama, because the view reaches far in all directions towards the sea and hundreds of islands in the distance as well as towards the continental side. When the sky is clear, you can even see the Apennine mountain range.
After a short transfer (45 min.), which takes us from sea level to a height of 900 m, we begin the circular path towards the top of Sveto brdo. The trail leads through a diverse landscape, passing through rocky as well as grassy parts of the mountain. We will pass by pastures where with a little luck we will meet wild horses, we will take short breaks in the Vlaški grad and Dušice mountain shelters. At the very top, we will have a picnic and enjoy the magnificent view in all directions. Evening transfer back and dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 - Life on Mars Trail with via ferrata and Malin Bay

Transfer duration: Starigrad Paklenica – Metajna 1h30 / Metajna – Baške Oštarije 1h30
Trail Life on Mars– bays Ručica / Slana / via ferrata / bay Malin / over the ridge back to Metajna: walking time 5h / length 13,8km / altitude 430m

Transfer to the village of Metajna (1h30), from where our hike on the shores of Pag Bay begins. The route takes place on the trail called “Life on Mars” because of the landscapes it crosses. Here, in winter, the “bura,” a strong wind coming down from the mountains, carries salt from the sea, which limits the growth of vegetation. The water then erodes the limestone reliefs, giving rise to caves and boulders which are a delight for climbers. We walk in this magical setting which offers us spectacular views of the blue of the bay of Pag and the Velebit mountains. The numerous beaches stretch throughout the day and the highlight awaits us at Slana bay with a passage over the via ferrata. Our way back leads us over the island ridge with magnificent views on Velebit mountain and its peaks. Picnic during the hike. Transfer (1h30) to Baške Oštarije for 1 night. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7 - Trail over the tops of Kiza, Grabar, Ljubičko and around Filip's rock

Trail from Hostel Baške Oštarije over Kiza, Grabar and LJubičko and back around Filip’s rock: walking time 5h / length 12km / altitude 700m

We start our hike from Baske Ostarije, a small village from which we take a loop hike, alternating the view of the monumental rock massifs and the paths in the middle of the meadows. The passage over the ridge allows us to see the entire center and south of the Velebit Park and, if the weather is clear, the Adriatic Sea and its islands. Picnic during the hike.
